Abortion Recovery Training

Abortion Recovery Training is ideal for past INFG participants, pregnancy resource center staff and volunteers, church leaders, or anyone else looking to learn more about supporting and ministering to women and men who have had abortion experiences. This is also a great first step if you are interested in facilitating a Recovery Group, becoming a Care Coach or at a Reconciliation Weekend.

This training is designed to meet the needs of any organization or individual interested in getting involved with abortion recovery. The following will be offered within general sessions and breakout sessions:

  • Abortion Recovery 101 - Are you curious as to what abortion recovery is or are you considering offering abortion recovery services? In this training you will learn why abortion recovery is important, a model for success and how to engage with this topic with grace.

  • Facilitators - Are you ready to jump in and serve the abortion-wounded? You will walk away knowledgeable and equipped to lead recovery groups. This is for anyone, male or female that has the heart to walk the path of healing and recovery with those hurting.

  • Care Coach - Maybe you don’t have the ability to lead a group, but have the gift of encouragement and would love to offer extra support to those going through the healing process. You will learn the importance of abortion recovery, the journey necessary to heal and ways you can lift participants up during their time of recovery.

  • Reconciliation Weekend Facilitator - Are you interested in helping individuals and couples process their grief over a weekend? You will learn the importance of abortion recovery, how to be a support and advocate for those who are hurting and walk away equipped to serve at a retreat experience.

The cost to attend is $25 per individual (with group rates for 3 or more). Coffee, snacks, and lunch will be provided to attendees. We highly suggest in-person attendance. However, if you are not local to the Kansas City area but are interested in attending, there are virtual options as well. Please make a note of that in the comments section on the RSVP form. Thank you.
